How To Pitch

Our site updates twice a week with essays, reported features, deep dives and editorials and we’re always interested in bringing in new contributors to our Dollhouse community. If you have an idea for us to consider, check out our submission guidelines!

Our ability to pay for submissions is made possible by our Dollhouse members. If you have nothing to submit but want to support our work please consider becoming a member here.

Writing Submission

Types of pitches we are looking for:

  • Dissections of pop culture

  • Deep dives into internet discourse and subcultures

  • Niche personal essays

When pitching please make sure your piece isn’t a topic we have previously covered. We do not currently accept profile pitches.

You can send us fleshed out pitches or finalised work, but please include a little introduction about yourself! Also ensure all work is unpublished and will be exclusive to Polyester.

All written pitches must come with a brief synopsis of your idea (one paragraph), why you are the best person to write this piece and examples of previous writing work.

All complete written essay submissions must be approx 1000 words and be unpublished elsewhere.

We do not accept or publish any pitches, submissions or commissions where AI has been used in any capacity. We actively vet all work for AI use.

Writing Submission

We are currently only accepting submissions of already completed work.

Please do not send work as WeTransfer or Dropbox. We accept: PDF or Google Drive.

Please ensure all work is unpublished and will be exclusive to Polyester. All photo shoots must be a minimum of 10 pictures per editorial.

Please note we prioritise photography that features underrepresented groups and are unlikely to publish your work if it only features skinny, white, cisgendered, able bodied models.

Ready to get in touch? Please email hello@polyesterzine.com and include the word PITCH or SUBMISSION in the subject line.
