It’s been six years since we last caught up with Harmony Tividad, when she covered the Polyester newsletter as part of her band Girlpool, months before lockdown and COVID changed everything for everyone. It’s not, however, the first time we’ve seen the musician in the time since. She pops up on the same scene as Polyester regularly, so between recording vox pops with us, her viral digital manifestations and her upcoming follow up to her first acclaimed solo album Gossip, she’s easily one of 2025’s primo It Girls.
The new sound combines real life earnestness with internet tinged satire, not dissimilar to what Harmony has put out previously, but with more of a focus on the personal. “It’s not super specific, it’s a few years of work that's been collecting and thematically aligning in the background of everything else I have been making,” she explains over email. “A lot of it is about womanhood and a kind of rejection of womanhood, but also the longing to feel inside of it. My relationship to expectations [of women] has been a really tumultuous thing my whole life and I think this work really reflects the complicated emotions I feel around these ideals.”
She calls the next chapter of her music-making “very tongue-in-cheek but also deeply feeling.” She continues: “I think my favourite stuff to write is about that dry self-awareness but also the intense emotions we experience.” Inspired by “Stina Nordenstam’s music, Hole, theater, David Lynch of course and Billy Wilder and Hitchcock movies,” and the creativity of the everyday, Harmony’s new direction, like the majority of her output - everything from new lyrics to Instagram captions - plays with complex feelings. One driving theme in particular has emerged among it all: a sincere relationship to manifestation. Below, Harmony puts her wisdom to very generous use, with a guide to manifesting your dream life:

Write Words Down, Regularly
Make conversation with the events of your life and kinda try to play god a tiny bit, even if you don't mean to. I’ve brought people and energies into my life by accident and intentionally.
Know Your Intentions
We are always projecting ideals into the world, and those ideals breed an energetic return.. it's kinda not very woo woo from how I view it because I just think we move through life with intentions both subconscious and conscious, and our intentions affect our life.

Use the Internet
I stumbled upon manifestation as a teenager. Manifestation is an extension of our longing, and I think as a teenager you long very easily, or at least I did. The internet gives us access to visions of reality that are different from our own and open us up to many different ways you can live.
Make ordinary things feel beautiful
Creativity is a constant practice if you pay attention, we are creative beings always making creative choices without even realising. Where we go to dinner is a creative choice, how we brush our teeth and cut our nails is a creative choice - the self expression is endless and it's very exciting when you feel the novelty of each choice we make. I think seeing things this way helps it feel like there is never a rut because the creative experience and flow is constant.
Hear your Gut
You have to learn how to hear your gut and where things resonate. Listen to those instincts and feelings and move deeper where things are true, and the more you do this the clearer the dream becomes. But the dream is always shifting and allowing it to shift is just as important as hearing it in the first place.
Believe It
View manifestation as a very rational thing. The only way anything can ever change in our lives is if we believe something can change in the first place. Positive potential lives at the intersection of kindness, hard work and luck.

Realise Your Subconscious Creativity
Creativity is a constant practice if you pay attention, we are creative beings always making creative choices without even realizing. Where we go to dinner is a creative choice, how we brush our teeth and cut our nails is a creative choice - the self expression is endless and it's very exciting when you feel the novelty of each choice we make. Just accept whatever comes out. Stream of consciousness pen to paper, typing on phone notes, taking a little phone picture and moving things around and taking the same picture again.
Find Your Stuff
Fashion always always is a huge point of inspiration as I really feel like everything is fashion if done with the right stuff in conjunction.. I think that's how I feel about most things, it's just weird stuff being the right stuff together. Nothing is the wrong stuff, you know.
Reflect, Always
Never being stopped or discouraged is the lesson always, just continuing to make work rain or shine and seeing what is coming through myself on any day. It's a beautiful lens to get the chance to look through and see what the inner temperature is. I feel so grateful to be able to reflect through my work.
