For some people, it’s a cup of tea. For others, it’s popping down to the car park for a cheeky ciggie and scroll on their phone. For me, it’s getting up the currently trending film trailer of the day and watching it full screen, out loud on my laptop. Some people prefer to know nothing about a movie before going into it, but for the new Damson Madder campaign starring Polyester fave Mackenzie Thomas, the sneak peek is the entire point. 

In ‘Press Play’, the London based brand takes the internet it girl and performance artist through the well loved tropes and references of indie cinema in order to showcase its autumn winter collection, providing an artful answer to the need for video campaign content. Our leading lady fumbles into frame in front of quaint British high streets, sits and sips coffee on a streetside terrace and monologues about life in a language not dissimilar to the tweets and Instagram captions that helped to catapult Mackenzie to the front of everyone’s feeds (and hearts).
