I’ll start with a cliché: growing up I liked bad boys. How could I not? Boys at school used to push girls when they had crushes on them, very slightly and politely of course, but that and some mean words were a sign of hitting the jackpot for a 14-year-old, the goldmine: a boy liked you. Then, a bit older, when I firmly announced to my friends that I don’t have a type they all laughed, and told me that I like someone that looks like they will ruin my life.

Looking back at the way we were brought up, looking at what media we were fed, I’m not surprised. We grew up with the Tyler Durdens, Michael Scofields, Jack Sparrows. Boys were supposed to wear black leather jackets, have piercing eyes, ride a motorcycle and have their brown hair fall gracefully over their eyes. They were supposed to be bad boys.
