May will hopefully provide a little respite from the whiplash pace of April, but it’s still bookended by two Full moons and plenty of jump-scares to keep your toes tapping.
The first week of the month is a pressure-cooker, beginning with the full moon in Scorpio on May 1st that will bring hidden truths to light, and closure or completion to something significant initiated back in November. Mercury moves into Taurus on May 2nd, shifting our focus to stability, money, and the tangible realm. The Mars-Jupiter square on May 4th can be galvanizing and lucky if channeled intentionally, but carries the risk of overconfidence, recklessness, and pushing ourselves beyond realistic limits. Mercury in Taurus will square Pluto in Aquarius on May 5th, stirring up heavy conversation, obsessive thoughts, and unsettling revelations. On May 6th, Pluto stations retrograde, initiating a slow, deep emotional purge and internal transformation over the next 6 months.
Not as breezy as I like my Taurus seasons, but the energy softens up around the 10th as the Sun and Jupiter form a daydream sextile, followed by a Mercury-Jupiter sextile on May 13th, bringing grounded optimism, good news, and ideally, gifts. The Mercury Cazimi on May 14th offers a moment of clarity and stabilizing lucidity. From there, the New Moon in Taurus on May 16th gives us a chance for a fresh start around material stability, resources, and self-worth.
Mercury zips into Gemini and conjuncts Uranus on May 17th, bringing glowing insights, surprises, flashes of brilliance, and likely some unexpected or chaotic news. On May 18th, Mars dips into Taurus as Venus splashes into Cancer, forming a sexy sextile that blends earthly steadiness with emotional readiness. Everything is romantic, you know?
Gemini season begins on May 20th, and the Sun forms a disruptive conjunction with Uranus. Anything goes with this one, so “expect the unexpected” as they say.
