Make it stand out
Last week, we were lucky enough to head out to Berlin to catch Wet Leg play a very special show - in a very pink warehouse, with rooftop go-karting to boot - for this year’s Telekom Beats Not a Passenger campaign, which in turn is part of their Own Your World initiative. The project is all about making sure that Gen Z have the tools to own their own online experiences, on a social media landscape full of noise, opinions, and unnecessary drama - a cause that makes a lot of sense to Wet Leg.
“I love being in a band and I love making music, but it’s 2026, which means I also run a couple of social media accounts,” the band’s frontperson Rhian told Telekom Beats. “And with that comes a constant stream of opinions about me, my friends, and the music we make. Whether those opinions are super sweet and encouraging or creepy and loaded with misogyny, it’s important to me to be able to tune them out and stay on my own frequency. That’s why the message of “I’m Not a Passenger” really clicked with me. We’re all constantly being told who to be by strangers online. Life’s too short not to be at the helm.”
Over the course of the night, the band played tracks from across their two albums, Wet Leg and moisturizer, and generally brought the house down as hard as you might expect them to. Scroll for the pics of both the band and the fans, and find out more about Own Your World and Not a Passenger here.
